After you create your web files using the Genealogy Pro web page creation facilities, you are ready to upload the files to your network account. When Genealogy Pro creates your web files, they are placed into a directory titled myname_web, where 'myname' is the name of your myname.genealogypro.net web site. This directory contains:
All files that are to be uploaded to your account; and
A file title 'Upload Files.gpupload', that is used by the Genealogy Pro Upload Manager
The Genealogy Pro Upload Manager is an upload tool that knows the directory structure of your web account. It uses ftp to upload files to your account, and uses an import script to import imformation from an uploaded script (in sql format) into a database on your web site. Because it knows where the files should be placed, it may be more convenient to upload your web files using the Genealogy Pro Upload Manager that using a generic ftp program.
As youur web site is a fully featured Linux web server with access to the CPanel tool, you can also use the CPanel tools associated with the account as alternative methods of uploading files to your account and importing the database. To use the CPanel tool, type http://www.yourdomainname.genealogypro.net/cpanel into your web browser. Log in using the user name and password given to you in the email received when you subscribed to the Gnealogy Pro Network service. If you choose, you may also use alternative dedicated ftp software (such as the Transmit tool) to uypload your files.
Firstly, create your web files using Genealogy Pro. Open the new web folder created by Genealogy Pro in the Finder (this folder is titled 'myname_web'). Open the new web folder and double click on the file 'Upload Files.gpupload', or alternatively open the Genealogy Pro Upload Manager and choose 'File->Open' menu and open the file. A window similar to that depicted below should open.

Upon subscribing to the Genealogy Pro Network Service, you should have received an email with table containing two sets of information: your login user name and login password, and a database import user name and database import password. The login user name and password is required to upload files. The database import user name and password is required if your are uploading and import a database to your web site. There may be occasions where you only choose to upload some files, such as an updated chart or document, and do not want to update the database. In this case only the login user name and password is required.
Enter your upload user name and database import user name and passwords into the spaces required in the main window (see image above)
You can customise which file(s) are uploaded by clicking on the 'Files' icon in the toolbar. The panel below should appear at the side of the main window.
Charts available to all public are located under 'Charts'. Charts which are restricted to users with a passwords are located under 'Private Charts'. 'Images and Documents' contain all images and other files for uploading. The 'database.sql.gz' file is your database in sql format.
To upload your web file, click the 'Upload' button in the main window
Genealogy Pro prints the status of the upload in the lower half of the upload window.
To delete the all existing charts prior to uploading charts, click on the 'delete existing charts' button at the bottom of the files panel. To delete existing documents prior to uploading documents, click on the 'delete existing documents' button at the bottom of the files panel. To delete the sql database file after it is imported into your web site database (this is usually the preferred option), choose the 'delete sql file after successful import' option at the bottom of the files panel.
When you click the 'Upload' button, the status of the upload is displayed in the lower half of the window. An example of typical output is shown below:
Where you choose to delete existing charts or document only, the upload manager will transfer a temporary script to your web site to delete these.
